Turkey and Rooster Wing Smudge Fans

A smudge fan is used along with burning sage to cleanse the body or home of negative energy. Smudging can be found in various forms almost in every culture around the world as a means of spiritual cleansing. Throughout the ages of man, we have had a reverence for and a relationship with birds. In many cultures around the globe birds are regarded as sacred messengers, with this Fan you are sending prayers and healing wishes to the Creator, to the heavens. Birds are considered the link between heaven and earth and their feathers allow them to defy gravity and have been the favorite tool of Shamans and healers for centuries. While it is considered rude or unclean to blow the burning sage with one’s mouth it is more hygienic and efficient to use a fan. Native Americans believe the smudge fan or spirit stick is a symbol of spiritual communication. While any fan will do your ritual tools should be meaningful to you. Many cultures believe that animals, rocks and trees store energy in their remains which makes every element of your ritual fan important and personal when using it for spiritual purposes.

Each feather is naturally unique in color and pattern, the feathers have been washed and sanitized, keep in mind that these feathers come from the wild and will have some flaws. Hand cut fringe, the feathers we use are typically 8-12 inches, while the fringes usually end up around 10-14 inches long perfect for fanning the sacred smoke used in clearing and cleansing space and energy flow.
