– These Snapping Turtle Shells DO NOT have the belly / bottom region. They are just as you see in the pictures – the top of the shell that goes across the back of the Snapping Turtle.

Great for Craft Projects like Turtle / Buckskin Purses or Possible Bags, for making Dream Catchers, for hanging in your Man Cave or going on the wall or shelf just for a wonderful Ambiance of Nature – These Snapping Turtle Shells are truly wonderful specimens!

Perfect examples of the Extra Large Snapping Turtles that are found in the Texas / Oklahoma Region of the United States. These particular Snapping Turtle Shells originate from a Turtle Farm in Oklahoma. We have MANY more of these Snapping Turtle Shells, but we are listing these three as great examples of what we have in stock.
Most people don’t know it but Turtle Shells are measured with a soft fabric ruler.

LENGTH: To measure the Length of the Turtle Shell you start at the part of the shell (where the Turtle’s Head would have been) and measuring across the top part of the shell and down the back (to where the Turtle’s Tail would have been).

WIDTH: To measure the Width of the Turtle Shell you start on one side of the shell and measure across and over the top of the shell the opposite direction that you went when you measured the Length.

FOR REFERENCE IN SIZE AND SHAPE: the Snapping Turtle Shells that we show in the pictures are described like this: Snapping Turtle Shell #1 measures 13 inches in Length and 15 inches in width (across). Snapping Turtle Shell #2 measures 12 1/4 inches in Length and 13 inches in width (across). Snapping Turtle Shell #3 measures 15 inches in Length and 17 inches in width (across)

MEDIUM TURTLE SHELLS:
#8’s – average approx. 8 inches in length
#9’s – average about 9 inches in length
LARGE TURTLE SHELLS:
#10’s – average about 10 inches in length
#11’s – average about 11 inches in length
EXTRA LARGE TURTLE SHELLS:
#12’s – average about 12 inches in length
#13’s – average about 13 inches in length
JUMBO TURTLE SHELLS:
#14’s – average about 14 inches in length
#15’s – average about 15 inches in length

These Snapping Turtle Shells are Good Quality Turtle Shells that have been Humanely Harvested, Cleaned but not perfectly cleaned and disinfected like our Rattle Snake Bones. The have normal imperfections in appearance, but then again this was a live animal, so imperfections are expected. These shells have been cleaned up but are not pristine and boiled till they turn white. THESE ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS made of some cheap plastic. These are ACTUAL Snapping Turtle Shells from animals that were raised on a Turtle Farm and were harvested for their meat and shells.
