Vendor Biography

Hello! I’m Autumn, the owner of Chippers Taxidermy. If you’ve run into me at an event, it was probably under the name of Bashful Badger Taxidermy. I’ve been practicing the art of taxidermy and specimen preservation for just over 10 years now. I am always looking for ways to improve both my personal work and am happy to help others out as well.

My fascination with taxidermy began in my high school anatomy class, where we articulated chicken skeletons on Halloween. I quickly fell down the rabbit hole, skipping my senior prom to take my first taxidermy class with Allis Markham (no regrets!). I moved out to Montana is 2016 to pursue my degree in pre-vet medicine Fish & Wildlife Management.

For the past six years, I have been working with 406 Taxidermy in Belgrade, Montana. My main passions are carnivores (anything with paws really), and reptiles. In my spare time, you can find me hiking with my husband and dogs, painting, photographing wildlife, and unsuccessfully hunting bears.

I am currently president of the Montana Taxidermists Association, and have been working to educate the public about common misconceptions of the taxidermy process. I also use this time to teach both children and adults about wildlife and habitat conservation issues, and ways they can make a difference. I strongly encourage everyone reading this to be a part of their local communities and remind the world that taxidermists are real people. Good people. Our way of life is actively being attacked, as is evidenced by the need to create this site in the first place.
